They are taking extreme liberties with this one. Filling it full of retarded anime references when there aren't any in the manga or light novel. This episode especially is horrible where he reveals what he used to look like. In the source material he used a clone to show what he looked like pre evolution, the anime is playing it like he still looks like that and his new form is just camouflage. what a fucking train wreck.

First off, Karen does not look tough or arrogant as she claims. She doesn't look like a boy, and I'm not sure I'd even refer to her as her looking "boyish". I can see why Seiichi got bullied because he CONSTANTLY says "No violence!" over and over again.

Second, it's not like Karen did much to tone down the heat, watching her "childhood friend" got beat up, and rather than step in, she's like, "I couldn't do anything."
